On Thursday, August 1st, a preliminary study session was held at the Kumamoto Disaster Prevention Center for high school students in Kumamoto who will participate in the summit.
A total of 157 high school students in Kumamoto and 5 students, including the chairperson, participated.
By learning about disasters caused by climate change and the disasters in Kumamoto, they deepened their understanding of disaster prevention, mitigation, and recovery efforts.
Additionally, in order to improve their English communication skills, they practiced presentations and discussions.
