5 Theme and Workshops
(1) General Theme
“Lessons from Kumamoto for the World and the Future”
The general theme is to learn about life-saving measures and creative reconstruction in Kumamoto, which has experienced large-scale natural hazards such as earthquakes and torrential rains.
(2) Goals of the Workshops
・“Disaster prevention” through self-help and mutual assistance
・“Disaster risk reduction” in harmony with nature
・“Creative reconstruction” based on lessons learned from major disasters
The discussions of the students in the workshops were summarized and adopted as a declaration.
The tours were divided into three courses.
